The inflatable anti-decubitus ring is used for preventive purposes for bedridden patients, people with limited physical abilities, elderly individuals, or those undergoing rehabilitation after prolonged illnesses or injuries. The main function of the ring is to prevent pressure sores of dystrophic and ulcerative-necrotic nature.
Usage instructions: When turning the patient onto their side, place the anti-decubitus ring under the bedsheet so that the skin area under pressure (usually the buttocks, shoulder blades, or heels) is positioned over the hole of the ring. Inflate the rubber ring by mouth or using a bicycle pump. When inflating by mouth, first wipe the valve with alcohol and cover the opening with several layers of sterile gauze or fit a rubber tube onto the valve. While inflating the ring, ensure it is firm but not too hard.
Care instructions: Clean the ring before disinfection. To do this, deflate the ring, close the valve, and place it in a sink or bathtub. Use dishwashing liquid, laundry detergent, or any general-purpose cleaning agent. For disinfection, use bactericidal agents that meet disinfection standards. Leave the cleaned, wet ring in the disinfectant solution for 10 minutes, then rinse thoroughly and allow it to air dry completely. More potent bactericidal disinfectants may be used if they are safe and used according to the manufacturer’s instructions. Avoid using oil-based products as they can damage the material integrity.
